SHAG Disneyland 50TH Anniversary Wood Box Purse: SHAG Signed + Doodle! What a cool Disneyland and SHAG collaboration for the park’s 50th Anniversary, and this one is especially awesome. The 2011 case is created is from genuine wood, as is a carved strap. ” Realistically, the 9.25″ x 6.75″ box is hardly usable as a true “purse; it’s definitely more of a display piece. Some have suggested a cigar box. My aunt, who has an MCM western retro home proudly shows off hers on a living room curio cabinet shelf. The front and back side appliqués display SHAG’s main Frontierland park anniversary illustration that’s retro-perfect. The sides are laser “branded” with SHAG cowboy designs. Now, here’s the good part. It was signed by SHAG at a merchandise party where he also generously doodled a steer skull. He rarely does such a thing and it was so perfect for the cowboy theme. Commentary: Frontierland collectables such as this are becoming more valuable and cherished by fans for a somber reason. People laughed at me over a year ago when I claimed insiders told me Bob Iger was to drain Rivers Of America, and here we are: it’s being replaced by cartoon cars. The Shooting Gallery is now extinct, being turned into a DVA lounge. And now, the same informants have whispered into my ear all of Frontierland is on the chopping block.

The metal rocket is attached to a heavy resin base with an on switch to light the rocket lights. The base underneath shows the authentication of the 55th anniversary and noted that the artwork was adapted by designers Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily–one of five attractions created to honor Disneyland’s 55th anniversary. It measures 22″ tall x 10″ long x 6.5 wide. It is missing the tip of the rocket and it does not have the original box or signed documentation.
