And now on to. Description: In 1995 the only thing new at Disneyland was the opening of Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, which was an instant success; however, it seemed like there were more closings than openings at Disneyland: the People Mover shut down; Videopolis was revamped into Fantasyland Theater and Aladdin’s Oasis dinner show closed. The Skyway aerial lift had closed the year before and construction of the new Tomorrowland – which started in 1995 – wouldn’t be complete until 1998. This didn’t stop the Park from celebrating 40 years of fun and adventure and of course, finding different and unusual ways to mark the occasion. Some of the ways were to bury a “Time Castle” in the courtyard of Cinderella’s Castle, issue a collector’s series of cards showing all the attractions for the previous 40 years, and a commemorative, limited edition, numbered passport was issued with artwork celebrating many of the attractions, parades and lands that made up Disneyland. The passport comes in a folder that is held closed by a gold-embossed paper ribbon which slides off to reveal a 14″ x 3 1/2″ ticket, with “40 Years of Adventure” emblazoned across the middle and a golden ribbon beneath with “Disneyland” printed upon it. The back of the ticket contains the rules for use of the ticket, with the ticket number (02803) imprinted on the bottom and can be used for one day admission to the Park; however, framing such a colorful and vibrant piece of Disney history might bring many more years of enjoyment. The folder shows a light bend on the upper left hand corner. From storage (see last photo) but has not affected the ticket and is otherwise in excellent condition.
