Disneyland 50th Anniversary Master Replicas Mark 1 Monorail Model: RED Limited Disney. Disney’s 2005 50th Anniversary celebration produced among the best ever park collectibles. A special item offered exclusively on the Disney’s shopping website, DisneyDirect at the time, is this terrific model of the first generation of the Monorail, the Mark I. This was created by famed prop and miniature maker, Master Replicas. Disney has never released one similar since. Available in two colors, this is the limited edition of 1959 orange-red. This was displayed on my desk for about 2 months until the next new Disney item entered my collection and to make room I boxed it up and it’s been in the closet ever since. It takes batteries in a small compartment in the base of the monorail and there is a tiny switch to light up the top light. Please note that I never put the batteries in and hence the battery compartment is clean. I can’t find any flaws in it and presents great. There is also a limited edition pin that sits in the base.
